Triumf mobile health game is now in the landscape mode and this post gives an overview of the benefits of making such change from the portrait mode. Of course both of those modes are useful in most cases but the decision to use either landscape of portrait mode depends on the game design and on the gameplay experience. We believe that having the game in the landscape mode significantly enhances the gameplay and here is why.

Suitable for weaker patients

Having the game in the landscape mode allows weaker patients to use the game easily because they can use both hands for playing. This makes the game suitable for wider range of patients.

Better UI distribution

The story of Triumf game revolves around saving the Triumfland City from the Disease Monster by finding one’s inner superpowers. The gameplay involves a lot of exploration in the magical city environment and by having better overview of the Triumfland while playing improves the user experience significantly. Now the focus is on as much of the scene as possible, moving UI control buttons further to the corners and leaving more space to see what's happening.

Better reading experience

Triumf health game involves an extensive educational module that gives an overview of general health and wellbeing and of the underlying chronic condition and its treatment. Having the game in the landscape mode allows better layout of the text. It makes it easier for patients to go through the information about their health and wellbeing and utilize this info while helping out other citizens of the Triumfland.

Improved accessibility to the controller

Most of the games have controller on the lower left side of the screen. We have now also changed the location of the controller such that the players would be more familiar with. This allows us to use the space in a more optimal way and makes the usage of the game easy for patients.
