Our way of motivating kids to learn about health
Why is it important to provide health-related information to children?
In our innovative digital therapeutics platform Triumf, we put theories of emotions, coping, problem-solving, activity-based learning, behavior change techniques and psychotherapeutic methodology into practical use by using gamification.
One of the aims of using gamification, is to encourage children to learn more about their health and wellbeing. This process has two steps. First, we deliver validated information regarding the health and wellbeing of children (Additionally, our Triumfland Saga health game has the virus-specific information). All information is presented in levels with increasing difficulty; the internalization of the information is evaluated and children are encouraged to interactively implement learned behaviors in the game environment. There are different missions in the game where children are required to use the knowledge they have acquired from the game.
Even though we take children’s level of understanding into account, sometimes kids need an extra push to seek for further knowledge. For that reason, we have developed a completely new minigame on our platform. Our trivia game is brought to life to encourage children to learn more about their health and wellbeing.
Taking quizzes is challenging yet rewarding. By answering health-related questions and learning throughout the process, children’s cognitive skills will improve. Retaining information about topics that children are interested in is allowing their brains to have some good exercise that, in turn, supports the other goals of our platform (such as improved problem-solving skills but also creativity and mental capabilities in general).
The future of our trivia game
We believe that utilizing this kind of a gamification technique in order to encourage learning is a very promising avenue. Soon we’ll see how children perceive this new and beneficial feature of our mobile health platform.
