Ukraine Conference Psychological Resilience as a Key to Stability in the Time of War

Our project on supporting the mental health for Ukrainian students was presented at a conference in Ukraine.

The conference titled Psychological Resilience as a Key to Stability in the Time of War took place in Varash, Rivne region on 8th of May. Our Ukrainian partner, Me and My School presented our planned activities, such as the creation of a 25-part training series on children's mental health in Ukrainian for teachers at the event. Another focus of the project is also the implementation of Triumfland Saga among 7-12 year old Ukrainian students to benefit their mental wellbeing.

These goals aligned well with the purpose of this particular conference which was to review the main practices and tools for psychological support of participants in the educational process, as well as to discuss useful resources aimed at increasing the level of stress resistance. The event was attended by a diverse group of social workers and psychologists. The latter were particularly curious about the surveys conducted during the project and how the results will differ among regions. Since Varash is not on the frontline, there was a large interest in comparing findings among communities.

The conference focused on 3 main areas: "Psychological support for students" "Psychological support for teachers" "Psychological support for parents". Therefore, offering insights on improving psychological stability and personal development within the whole education community. It also included representatives of the Rivne Institute for Professional Development of Teachers who were curious about potentially joining our work.

The project helmed by Triumf Health has been funded through the Estonian Centre of International Development (ESTDEV) and will run until the end of 2024.
